AppleInsider reports that AT&T stores will temporarily close on the day of the iPhone launch, June 29, around 4:00pm until 6:00pm, the time at which the highly anticipated device will be available to the public.
This will allow the mobile service provider to control traffic in their retail stores and prevent large crowds from gathering. This time might also be used to prepare detailed iPhone displays that require stores to be rewired because the display calls for its own power supply. It will require a network cable as well, which indicates that AT&T may be aiming to display the iPhone with all features functional.
AT&T also plans to prolong their store hours on Friday, June 29.
