According to data released by Gartner Inc shown on MacDailyNews, sales of Apple computers in the United States grew at 30% in the first quarter of 2007 from the first quarter of 2006.

Overall computer sales grew 2.9% from in the first quarter of 2007 over the last 12 months.

Apple’s share of the United States market increased to 5% from 4% from the first quarter of 2006.

While Hewlett-Packard became the leader in worldwide PC market share, Dell is still the firm with the most computer sales in the United States despite losing market share to Hewlett-Packard, Toshiba and Apple.

Apple will hold its Q2 earnings call on Wednesday, April 25 at 5pm Eastern.
