T-Mobile, the mobile services arm of Deutsche Telekom, said Friday it has sold more than 10,000 iPhones on the device’s first day of sale in Germany.
T-Mobile said customers purchased the handset via the company’s retail stores or through their website and that it is well prepared to further meet high demand for the iPhone.
The company’s chief executive Rene Oberman said on television that it is possible demand for iPhones in Germany during the Christmas shopping season may outstrip supply.
The iPhone also started selling at 6:02pm in the UK Friday at Apple stores, O2 stores and the Carphone Warehouse. No sale reports are available for the UK yet.
MacNotes.de and setteB.it posted photos and coverage from the UK and Germany for the iPhone’s first day of sale in Europe.
