After Apple’s recent confirmation of its plans to make a transition to LED screen technologies for future Macs, details as to which notebook model would first experience the change were unclear.
Presently, Apple looks to be considering the purchase of 13.3 and 15.4-inch LED-backlit panels according to a report from DigiTimes.
Citing “industry sources”, the Taiwanese publication states that Apple will buy the components from AU Optronics (AUO), Chi Mei Optoelectronics (CMO), Coretronic and Kenmos Technology with shipments officially starting in the second or third quarter of 2007.
These component makers are all Taiwan-based.
DigiTimes previoulsy brought forth a rumor concerning the launch of a 15.4-inch MacBook model in the second quarter of 2007.
